About Me

I have been in mortgage lending since Feb 3, 1992. During this time I have worked as a Mortgage Banker, Correspondent Lender, and a Mortgage Broker. I am currently the Vice President of Mortgage Banking for BankLiberty, a publicly traded Community Bank in the Northland of Kansas City.

My passion for the business comes from being able to assist, guide, and educate my clients in the home loan process, whether it is for the purchase of a new home or improving their financial position when refinancing. Staying on top of the always changing underwriting guidelines, credit scores and how the financial markets affect our interest rates have keep me at a place of continually learning. It has led me to getting my Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist (CMPS®) designation. It is also why I am as plugged in as much as possible to the market, so I can provide the best, up to date advice on the direction of rates, loan products for my client’s situation, and how to improve their credit scores.

My reason for starting this blog has to do with education.  Both for my clients and myself.  I wanted a place where I can keep my thoughts, helpful links, videos, articles and more that can assist in understanding the home loan process, interest rates, financial markets, credit scores to name a few.  And in the effort of teaching and assisting my readers, I will always be learning as well.
